About YES on Measure G

penny

Measure G extends the voter-approved existing local one-cent sales tax.

Measure G will raise more than $4 million annually until ended by voters to protect and maintain vital El Cerrito city services.

Existing, voter-approved local funding has maintained vital services in El Cerrito.

Initially passed in 2010 and extended in 2014, this existing one-cent sales tax supports public safety, wildfire prevention, youth programs, parks maintenance, and more. This funding provides 10% of El Cerrito’s annual budget.  Passing Measure G is crucial to maintaining existing public services.

Measure G was unanimously placed on the ballot by the El Cerrito City Council for voter consideration after months of public meetings and feedback from residents who want to maintain city services and prevent devastating cuts.

Measure G is not applied to
prescription medicine or food purchased as groceries.
